  • 5 new restaurants coming to the Katy area in May

    Here is a list of five new dining options coming soon or now open in the Katy area. From crawfish to gelato, there is an option for every taste.


    MudBugs on Wheels
    The crawfish trailer opened in March at 2711 Katy Flewellen Road, Katy. The business offers fresh crawfish and shrimp. After crawfish season ends, the business will serve an extended  Cajun menu, such as boudin, boudin balls, crawfish etouffee, po’boys, crab and gumbo. 832-683-2847. www.facebook.com/MudbugsOnWheels

    Tom + Chee
    The restaurant opened Feb. 13 at 21788 I-10, Ste. 500, Katy. Tom + Chee features a gourmet selection of grilled cheese sandwiches, melts, fresh soups, salads and the original grilled cheese doughnut. 281-394-9501. www.facebook.com/tomandcheekaty/

    WingStop
    The nationwide chain is opening a fourth Katy location in mid-May at 2918 W. Grand Parkway, Ste. 160, Katy. The restaurant will be unveiling a new interior design for the company. Customers can view the menu and order online or through the mobile application. 281-665-4100. www.wingstop.com

    Abuelo’s Mexican Restaurant
    The traditional Tex-Mex restaurant opened April 10 in The Shoppes at ParkWest at 24600 I-10, Katy. The restaurant offers lunch specials, tapas and small bites, drink specials, soups and salads, desserts and a gluten-sensitive menu. 281-392-1009. www.abuelos.com/locations/katy-tx

    4D Gelateria
